My Incredible Shrinking Monkey

I have no patience and Neurosurgery be damned!

Since I had yet to be contacted by my neurosurgeon, I asked my regular oncologist at my chemo appointment today, "What's up with my brain?"

Evidently, all is well, or on it's way to being well on that front. The spot is shrinking into non-existence.

Last October, she had taken me off of Avastin due to kidney troubles which, once resolved in February, allowed me to go back on it. She believes that going off the Avastin caused the growth, and going back on it smacked it back down. Which is good for now, but it also holds some uncertainty for the future - which I suppose you live with when you have cancer regardless.

So for now, we'll stick with the monkey theme and say that we've kept my crazy monkey at bay.

Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers.

Love to all.

  1. My nuero-oncologist said we would try Avastin when and if it comes back. My regular oncologist said he puts all his patients with tumors in the brain on Avastin. She also says repeatedly he is brilliant so... sounds like your in good hands. So glad things are shrinking. I keep you in my daily prayers.

  2. Happy dancing for you and yelling "Yabadabadoo"!

  3. Thanks to you both. Prayers & dancing back atcha!

  4. Hi, You're probably going to hate me for this reply but I hope not. I know there's a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to people's health and their fates. But why are you going the mainstream medical route? You must look extensively to things on the internet? Don't you realize that there are alternative solutions, real solutions to illness that really work. Have you not checked out the statistics on your probable outcome with this kind of medicine? No? There is so much data out there that could help you. Actually thousands of sites. If you have any desire & time on your hands just check out these two sites for starters. and And if you've "heard all this before" and it offends you please forgive my intrusion. And I wish you all the very best and joy & happiness whatever your choices. Life on this molten ball of metals is something else for sure. All the best.
